Small black screen when running programs

since up grading to windows 10 I am having problems when I am in a programme after a few seconds I get a small black screen appear with writing at the top but I am unable to see what it says as it disappears to quick then the whole screen goes black and
returns to start menu even with this I have to keep returning as it goes back to start......... please help .... and can it be in easy steps please.

  F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
