Windows 10: Black Box around mouse cursor

I have an employee remoting into their office computer from home using the Remote Desktop Connection. For the first couple of weeks, things seemed fine, but today he started having a black box encompass his mouse cursor. I've been helping him all day but I cannot find a cause. It doesn't appear when I log into his computer in office or when I remote in from my machine, I've editing a bunch of the mouse settings including the ones found in the Ease of Access tab, we've made sure that both machines are fully updated, even simple things like pressing Insert or just restarting. Nothing I've tried has made any difference and I cannot find anything really about this issue online. I'm not sure what could be causing it other then the users computer, but I don't know what to do in order to turn his cursor back to normal.

Next up is bcdedit | find "osdevice"
And after doing diskpart , list disc

 

No mouse cursor

Hi,

It is possible that the system did not recognize the mouse of your computer after it booted up. This can be the reason why you do not see the mouse cursor. Kindly perform a power cycle to refresh the power of the computer. To do this, follow these steps:

• Shutdown the computer.
• After shutting it down, remove the battery (if you're using a laptop) and disconnect the computer from the charger.
  
• Wait for 1 minute.
• After 1 minute, attach the battery and turn on the computer.
• Check if you will see the mouse cursor.
