Windows 10: Black infinite loading screen with cursor loading symbol before an intended login screen...

Note: tried to do what someone recommended in previous posts on command prompt but nothing came of it


Basically I started getting this problem two days ago. Every time I started up my pc, it would boot normally until it a black screen with an infinite loading cursor symbol came up. It comes up before the login screen and that never comes up now. I did nearly everything I could to attempt to fix it. Here's what I tried:



I pressed F8 to get this startup repair thing, which ended up not working;



Tried to do a system restore but got some error saying it didn't work on all other restore points;



Tried all the safe modes, but still had the loading screen;



Tried all sorts of stuff on command prompt that I was told to do and read online, yet no luck;



And finally, I did a system reset where I retained my personal files. As for this, it told me to choose one of three accounts to reset, likewise the system restore: [account1], [account2] and [administrator]. Picked my account and even did the reset. Same problem came up, even when shutting it down to restart.



In this blank screen, I can't get any window or anything up.

win10 black screen and cursor but no password on acc still not loading


I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 8 and not 8.1 with black screen and cursor I had no password so it should automatically load into account but it did not plus I tried ctrl key and enter plus all other key combinations but nothing and waited for half an hour. Please help all suggestions are welcomed!

P.S. I can see the cursor and the loading windows logo so no imbecile answers like graphic card driver or monitor driver for god sake

 

Windows 10 loads to a black screen with cursor after login

Earlier today, my PC wouldn't load windows past the screen with rotating dots. After resetting Windows 10 Home, it was able to load up to the login screen (showing my username and 'welcome'). But after, it just loads to a black screen with the cursor.

ctrl+alt+del opens the screen to open task manager, but task manager won't open onto the black desktop.

Windows opens in Safe Mode, and sfc says that it can find corrupted files but can't replace them. I checked the log and there's a good few dozen it can't repair. DISM failed and couldn't complete, and chkdsk reports no errors. My installation disc can't
fix the issue - it's log shows all it's tests completed successfully.

A lot of other forums suggest its the display drivers or Windows trying to output display to a monitor it thinks exists but doesn't. I've tried all of those solutions and that doesn't seem to be an issue.

If I reinstalled Windows into the same partition the corrupted installation is in, is there an easy way to move over my User, so that it was as if I just performed a reset of Windows (there's just my one User) - its moved into Windows.old but there would be
admin/permission issues just copy/pasting it, right? Because it seems like a clean install is the only way out of this one...

This article will walk through how to fix this problem, and get back to using your computer/device the way you was before.

Details

This seems to be caused by either another monitor, two graphics cards (an integrated and discrete card for instance), or software that sets up a virtual monitor conflicting the primary monitor. Windows might choose the other monitor as the primary monitor.

To fix this problem, please follow the steps below:

• After rebooting 3 times, system should start in advanced repair mode.
• Select "Selective startup" mode. Start in Safe Mode with Networking.
• Right click on Start button, and open "Command Prompt (Admin)."
• Follow instructions at https://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/windows-installer-safe-mode to start windows installer service.
• Right click Start button. Go to Apps and Features.
• Uninstall second screen software (if any). I had "Duet" software installed to use my iPad as a second screen. If you don't have second screen software, skip ahead.
• Right click Start. Go to device manager.
• NOTE: Only perform step 8 if you know what you are doing. You can break important stuff here.
• Look under Display Adapters, Monitors, and anything else with a similar icon, for duplicate devices/caution symbols. If you have an integrated and a discrete graphics card, try disabling the integrated display adapter. Right click and disable duplicate
  devices/conflicting devices. IMPORTANT: Leave your primary graphics adapter and monitor alone.
• I had a dual monitor icon in device manager for the virtual display software I was running.
• 9. Uninstall the graphics driver under Apps and Features.
• 10. Reboot
• System should start to login screen. If it doesn't, try unplugging the monitor cable, and re-plugging it back in.
• 11. Reinstall graphics drivers for your primary graphics adapter, choose the clean install option.

If you removed anything that was being detected as a primary monitor, you can try to reinstall it now. If it causes the problem to return, you might have to wait until the developer updates their software to reinstall it.
