Windows 10: Black Lockscreen - possible to have it just display same background as laptop but without...

Hi - I've recently switched to a thinkpad and have an LG monitor connected as my 2nd screen. When I lock my laptop (windows +L), the LG screen goes black while my thinkpad screen displays the login page. Is there a way for the LG screen to have the same background as the one on my thinkpad, but without the login part?

My work laptop (dell xps 13) was able to do so with a lenovo external monitor ie when I logged off, the dell displayed the login prompt and the external monitor displayed the same background as the dell xps but without the part asking you to sign in.

Would appreciate the help! The black screen is bothering me.

Desktop background gone black after a few minutes of use on laptop.

Desktop background and taskbar going black could be due to software conflicts.

We would like to know some information to better assist you with your concern:

• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Did you get any error messages or error codes?

In the meantime, we suggest that you try to check if the "Show Windows Background" option is turned on. Follow the steps below:

• Open Settings in the Start menu.
• Go to Ease of Access, then on the left side, click
  Other options.
• Turn on Show Windows Background and check if it works.

Re: Lockscreen or background color remains exactly black and white

I have bought a Lumia 730(dual sim) just 3 days ago and was trying to personalize my 'start-background' and the 'lock-screen' with selected pictures saved in my phone SDcard. I have followed all the steps for the same (as described in "lumia Help + Tips"
section).. But in spite of successfully making all the selections -- both my lockscreen or start-background remains exactly as chosen background-colour (i.e. black and white for 'dark' and 'light' respectively)... Kindly enlighten me regarding the solution
of this set-up...

Step 1: Try to set the lock screen background to picture and check if the issue persists.

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device and check if it helps.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Step 3: Update the Display Adapter drivers.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right click on the Display Adapter and click on
  Update Driver Software.
• Restart the computer.
