Black screen after changing mode in display adapter properties.

Hello, let me get this as detailed as I can.Today I've been trying to change my resolution to a custom one in game Counter Strike 2 the resolution we're talking about is 1440 x 1080, after trying everything that was mentioned in guides I wanted to try something risky. In one YouTube video there was mentioned Display Adapters Properties hidden in settings System => Display => Advanced display => Click on a display then "Display adapter properties for Display X" after clicking this a window should open with Adapter properties, on the bottom of the window there is a button with text "

    Displaying Adapter Properties

    Hi,

We would like to know more information to help us narrow down this concern, please answer the following questions:

    • Is it only happening to the Display adapter's properties?
    • Did you recently make changes on your computer?
    • Have you tried logging in to safe mode?

    Looking forward to your reply.

VMWare VMs Black Screen - Windows 10 3D Accelerator - Graphic Properties not available

I am running Windows 10 Build 1803 build Citrix Desktops. I am trying to change the properties of the Windows 10 box so that I can turn off 3D Graphic properties as VMs are all in black screen mode. So, based on the suggestions by most of them, it looks
like we have to turn off the 3D Hardware acceleration. When I right click on the desktop, I get only Display Settings and Personalize option and if I go into Display settings, i do not get to see the options for 3D graphic acceleration as mentioned in the
below steps As, I do not see Graphic properties at all.

So, how can I turn it off or what else can be done as these are Citrix Desktops that are showing black screen. So, either you have to boot them serveral times or shut down and bring it up and sometimes they come up to the logon screen and show the windows
screen or else they are black screen. Clicking on CTRL+ALT+DEL also has issues sometime it brings up the logon window or else none. Just plain black screen.

In order to disable 3D hardware acceleration, I suggest you to follow the steps below.

    1. Right click on the desktop and select Graphics properties.
    2. Select Basic Mode and hit OK.
    3. Go to the 3D option.
    4. You can disable 3D graphics acceleration from this screen.
Hope this helps. Please reply for further queries on this.

Black screen after updating display drivers

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that after upgrading the graphics drivers, you are receiving a Black screen. I’ll certainly assist
    you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    • When exactly do you see a black screen?

    • Are you able to boot the computer to the login in screen?

    • What is the make and model of the computer?

I suggest you to try refreshing the graphics driver by using the key sequence
Windows logo key + Ctrl + Shift + B and see if that helps.

I would suggest you to try booting the computer into Safe Mode and try disabling the display driver. Refer
    the article on Start
your PC in safe mode in Windows 10
    .

After booting the computer to Safe Mode, refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press
Windows logo key + X, and select Device Manager.

    2. Expand
      Display Adapters.

    3. Right click on the
Display driver and select Disable device.

    4. Restart the computer.

If this allows you to boot the computer to normal mode, try uninstalling the driver.
To do this, refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press
Windows logo key + X, and select Device Manager.

    2. Expand
      Display Adapters.

    3. Right click on the
      Display driver and select Uninstall.

    4. Restart the computer.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
