    Black Screen after Log on

    Do you have a password at the login screen?

    If yes, once you are there, click the power button.

    It will bring up restart, sleep, or shutdown.

    Before clicking restart
    Hold the shift key.

    While holding shift, click restart.

    An advanced menu will come up.

    Click troubleshoot
    Click advanced options
    Click startup settings
    Click restart

    When the system restarts, choose option 4 by tapping 4. That will allow you in safe mode
