  1. Black screen after logon for 12 seconds

    After I switch to my user from the two on my PC both are admins or when I log on after another user was already logged in, the screen goes black and unresponsive for 12 seconds. After that, there are no apparent issues.The issue doesn't happen if the logon happens right after the PC was turned on. Although, it does happen if PC was wakened up from sleep mode.The issue happened approximately after the drivers for a drawing tablet were installed. There was a problem with screen keyboard appearing on the logon screen, which was fixed by turning the service with this unwanted thing off. I also t

  2. Black Screen Isuue in Window 10

    Hi kashish,

    I would appreciate you for trying troubleshooting steps.

    To understand the issue better, I request you to answer few questions:

    • Does black screen appear when you before user login’s or after user has logged in ?
    • Does black screen appears when you lock your pc?
    This problem occurs because of a change in the behavior of Win Logon and Logon UI. This change introduces the potential for the deadlock.

    I would also suggest you to install all the updates available for the system and check if it helps.

    Follow the Below steps:

    • Type settings in the Search area on the taskbar and select Settings
    • Select Update and Security.
    • Click on Windows Update and select Check for Updates

    Keep us posted with the status of the issue. We’ll be glad to assist if you need further assistance.

    Thank you

    Black Screen 30 seconds after logon

    I just upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 on my laptop (Dell Inspiron N5110) last night.

    After booting, I get to the logon screen just fine. After logging on, my desktop starts to come up normally (loads background image, starts populating task bar with pinned programs, etc.). About 30 seconds into a normal logon, it crashes and I get the
    black screen with cursor. I can still use task manager to launch a browser and do other tasks.

    I've tried all the following with no change of behavior:

    * creating and logging into a new user account

    * booting to safe mode

    * doing a clean boot

    I see a lot of people have had problems that gave them the black screen, but I have not found anything quite like my problem. Everyone seems to think a safe mode or clean boot should avoid the issue, but for me it doesn't.

    Many thanks if you can help me get this to work.

    Black screen after logon for 12 seconds

    Black screen after logon fixed, sort of, but...

    Hi, it seems you may have sthg that is account specific loading, even in Safe Mode. Some people have reported black screen after login, but also in safe mode, and that's been an unsupported graphics card.
    E.g. Black Screen after login- Intel Q35 - Windows 10 Forums

    However you have got a desktop display in your test account.

    I can appreciate you not wanting to configure a new user account.

    Sometimes application drivers, for example, are loaded even in safe mode when you don't expect them to be.

    I'd suggest:
    1. Check the driver details for your graphics card just to see it makes sense.
    2. Consider any applications that could be incompatible. Unfortunately MS's compatibility site is more a user vote on compatibility and does not list all incompatible programs.
    3. Disable all startups you reasonably can - e.g. using Autoruns. Look at drivers, and logon especially.
    Disable anything you can and try logging in to your usual account.
