Windows 10: Black screen and crashes on windows 10, tried reinnstalling Windows and still black screen.

About a week ago I upgraded my GPU on my Windows 10 computer. The computer was functioning well after the upgrade. After about a week my pc started to suddenly switch off without a closing- or blue screen. It doesn't matter if I'm playing a game, browsing on the internet, or looking at my e-mail.When this happened I restarted the pc and about half of the time it would start up again and the other half of the time only one fan was spinning. So I have taken out the GPU a few times and put it back in and the PC started again, but just for about 15 minutes/ a few hours. So I did the same thing a

Black screen after 'Starting Windows' sequence

Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

Try this quoted from "VisiHow" article "Repair Windows 7 Black Screen of Death":

Boot your PC with the "Last Known Good Configuration" option

This quick little option can be accessed by following these simple steps:

Press and hold down the "F8" button as you boot up your PC and before the Windows logo is displayed. This will bring you to the Advanced Boot Options, wherein a list of options on booting up your Windows 7 system is provided.

Locate the "Last Known Good Configuration" option and select it by pressing the Enter key. Your PC should now start booting Windows. Wait and see if it works.

Google search and you will find a lot of the "Windows Black Screen of Death with cursor" fixes.

Windows 7 black screen of death

Hello guys!
Since i formatted my computer with windows 7 i was very angry because something always went wrong and in the startuo screen it remained black without loading at all. After 5 times reformating i understood that the real problem were the updates. Since than i never updated that windows 7 x86 or called 32-bit. Now Microsoft claims that it is a hardware or malware error. This is really foolish and for me it is worse for them. Anyway any of you guys who know that the black screen of death is now fixed? I want to update, but i think updating windows is nonsense. After all i want to know if they have improved a bit windows 7 operating system. I have heard that it has been a registry error from some qualified engineers.

I read a report a little while ago that said the black screens were nothing to do with updates but due to a malicious program (it hit more than just windows 7 users - vista, xp and 2000 were also prone to the black startup screen of death if infected). My windows 7 install is fully up-to-date and i've never had the black startup screen.

Just run some decent anti virus and you should be safe (i suggest microsoft security essentails since it's free and pretty decent). When you've installed an anti-virus i'd suggest doing a full scen to be sure there's nothing there.
