  1. Black screen and cursor, USB boot doesn't work

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre desktop. This morning, Excel wasn't behaving so I pressed CTRL-ALT-DEL to force quit it, but it just went to a black screen and cursor. I forced the computer to shut down, but when I tried to restart it, it just went to the black screen again. Since then, I've tried restarting holding the shift key down, as well as either holding down or repeatedly pressing shift-F8, F8, F11 and delete. I also created a USB boot disk using my laptop but none of these methods have made any difference - all I get is the black screen and cursor.Anyone have any other bright ideas?

    :)

  3. Windows black screen with cursor

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-black-screen-with-cursor/5dc3ad10-7320-4776-ad8f-17af5e6b7968

    I
have tried following the steps of booting into safe mode, going into the control panel and uninstalling the latest windows update that caused the 'Windows black screen with cursor' error. However, now it wont even boot to the desktop, it will show 'Automatic repairs being done' and then automatically booting to safe mode. Upon checking my BIOS, the SSD drive with windows installed with it, is not even showing up in the boot list/priority. (still able to see drive in bios under System status and when checking under windows installation time.)
