Windows 10: Black screen between POST and lock screen

I have recently encountered an issue, where my PC is posting, the motherboard manufacturer logo appears with a loading icon, afterwards the monitor goes black, but the signal stays, then after about 30-40 seconds it goes to the windows lock screen. Before this it just went straight to the login without the screen going black or the delay. The monitor itself is fine, I tried with a different monitor and cables, the issue was still present. I also tested it with all 3 DP ports and the HDMI port on the GPU, with the same result. Unfortunately my PC has no IGPU to test with. Windows and my GPU dri

Hi Eugen,

As you have already tried to update the driver and changed the settings, I suggest you perform a startup repair by following the steps below and check if it helps.

• In the Lock screen, press/hold the shift key and click on power icon>restart.
• Click on Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Repair and follow the prompts to start the Startup Repair.

After the Startup Repair is complete, check for the status.

• Press Windows + I and select personalization.
  
• Select Lock screen.
  
  
• Select the Screen Timeout setting.
  
• Select the time of timeout you need and check.

Step 1: Try to set the lock screen background to picture and check if the issue persists.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Step 3: Update the Display Adapter drivers.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right click on the Display Adapter and click on
  Update Driver Software.
• Restart the computer.
