Windows 10: Black Screen, Cause File Explorer Not Being Able To Open.

When I boot into windows, it is fine, I log into the main account and it is a black screen with cursor. If I login to a different account, everything is normal. But in the account with the black screen, even if I use the task managers run function to run programs, like chrome, it can't open file explorer or settings. Also, the windows key doesn't open the start menu. The problem started when I moved my hard drive from my laptop to my desktop, and booted from it. I went to windows settings to update the drivers, and restarted the computer because it said to restart to install the updates. After

There may be several reasons wht your screen goes black when you try to open File Explorer. To assist you better with your concern, kindly answer the questions below:

• When did this problem start?
• Were there any hardware/software changes on your computer prior to this happening?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

In the meantime, you may try to run the System File Checker tool
to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files that may be causing this issue. We also suggest to try booting your system in
Safe Mode and let Windows run in a basic state, limiting the files and drivers running in the background that
can cause this black screen issue.

Black File Explorer

We suggest that you start your PC in Safe mode and see if File Explorer still shows a black image when you access your files. Safe Mode would help isolate the issue by starting Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. It may help
distinguish what's causing the issue, if the problem does not happen in Safe Mode, then we'll know that the default settings does not cause the issue.

You may start your PC in Safe Mode by following the steps below:

• Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
• Select Update & security > Recovery.
• Under Advanced startup, select Restart now.
• After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select
  Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings
  > Restart.
• After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4
  or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode.
