Black Screen from sleep, immediately or upto 15 minutes later

When waking system from sleep/hibernate, after about 2-15 minutes, screen goes black. All LEDs inside case are still lit, sometimes the keyboard and mouse LEDs will go out, other times they stay lit. System doesnt appear to respond to input. Have tried unplugging the HDMI cable and replugging. Also tried running from onboard video, issue remains. The only way to recover is with a hard shutdown.

Began shortly after building. This is a brand new build.

System doesnt appear to respond to input. Have tried unplugging the HDMI cable and replugging. Also tried running from onboard video, issue remains. The only way to recover is with a hard shutdown.I have completely torn down system, check all power connections, removed cables not needed, reran others to remove potential strain points, reseated RAM and GPU, reseated CPU.Disabled hibernate.Have tried looking in Computer Management/Windows Logs/System events to see what the problem might be, but all I see at time of black screen is The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. Kernel-Power Event ID 41 Level Critical

    Late start problem

After the clean installation of windows 10 finished upto 35% restarted only with just a black screen then I shutdown the PC manually and again started in it started off only with just a black screen and after 10 to 15 minutes it started suddenly. This
happens every time I start the pc

Windows 10 system refuses to sleep

    I configured power options accordingly:

    - screen: 10 minutes

    - sleep: 30 minutes

i also unchecked the wake up option on Network card .

The screen goes black after 10 minutes, that's fine,

but after 30 minutes, the computer doesn't go to sleep. The fan is working the lights are still on.

In the Eventlog, i have event 42 (going to sleep), but 3 seconds later, event 107 (resuming from sleep), systematically.

    Any clue ?

    Hi,

It would be helpful if we could get dumps (if there is/was an bluescreen) Please check the configuration.

U should also have a look on your overclocking software:

All those programs are known for causing bluescreens:

    Corsair Link 4
    Asus AI Suite
    NZXT

I also can see that LightningService.exe is crashing the whole time.

This is what I found about it:Post your issues with the Trident RGB Control software here - Page 36 - G.SKILL TECH FORUM

I went looking for the .dmp files and didnt find it. I know that BSOD stands for Blue Screen, which I have not had but thought that maybe a black screen might qualify as well. I might be in the wrong section.

  6. Its no problem when you have no .dmp file. They are only generated when a BSOD appears.
Check the second part I posted above. It seems that theres a software problem.

This didnt seem to fix anything. Also uninstalled Aura, which is an ASUS lighting program. Still didnt fix it. Am beginning to wonder if a fresh windows install might fix this problem. Im new enough into this build that I would really lose anything.

After much screwing around with the registry, attempting to get rid of errors I was having with CLID and APPID permissions, and possibly breaking something in the process, I did a complete reset on the OS. As of this writing, my system seems to be stable.

Update: After a Windows 10 reset, after each driver was installed, the system was restarted, Ccleaner registry fix ran, and next driver installed. Rinse and repeat until complete. Over the course of yesterday and today, there was only one recurrence of the original problem. I held off installing any Asus software until the system appeared to be stable. Then installed AI Suite, Sonic Studio, GameFirst, and finally Aura Sync. I saved Aura sync for last as this seemed to be the software that was causing alot of issues the first time around. After installing each program, games were ran, browsed the interwebs, and did some normal hard drive swapping, data moving from drive to drive and other normal tasks that are performed throughout the course of the week. No issues or odd restarts. It wasnt until I installed Corsair LINK v4.9.1.23 that almost immediately had issues with system lock-up and having to hard shut down the system. Immediately uninstalled Corsair Link, ran Ccleaner, deleted any left over Corsair software and performed a reboot. Its been almost 24 hours since, the system has gone into sleep, hibernate, and woken from both without incident.

This is not to say that Corsair LINK is bad software. More that something between the Corsair and Asus software were causing the system to crash/lock up. I could probably run Corsair Link without issue if I uninstalled Aura or other Asus RoG specific software. I spell all of this out just encase someone else runs into similar issues, can try what I have done or maybe someone will see this before running into the same problems I have.
