Windows 10: Black screen, no start up, no noise of drives. Need recovery of work.

I have a 10 year old Lenovo Z580 laptop. and yes I am looking to update - will be after this!Used last week, and after work was prompted with an update which I selected to shut down afterwards. Turn laptop on, you can see the ‘live black’ screen, but that’s it. You can hear the fan, but no other drives start up. Tried pressing Cntrl + Shift + Esc and all other options I’ve read up on, but nothing. Not even a whirr of a drive. Attempted the ‘turning on and off’, but when the power button is pressed, it turns straight off. There is no holding power button down for 10seconds, it turns straight

Black screen and high pitched buzzing noise on start up.

I have an Acer Aspire Z series desktop on Windows 7 Home Premium, it's about 12 or 13 years old, I have E Set anti virus. In the last few months it occasionally shows a black screen and high pitched buzzing noise on start up so I switch it off and restart later and it's ok. But now it is permanently on black screen and buzzing noise. I've read some proposed solutions but can't get past the black screen. Has it just slowly died due to its age and would a technician be able to save any files on the hard drive before I ditch it?

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

windows 7 startup black screen problem

All of sudden my laptop hanged and loud noise and black screen appeared , thereafter it is unable to start, I tried running startup repair but it has not helped as well.

I am able to run in safe mode but not normally. Tried even starting from last known best config but it is also not starting it, just showing black screen.

If I go to recovery manager while launching startup repair, it I'd showing option to restore windows, will it remove all data rrom all partitions ? I have 3 total partition apart from recovery drive, all main data in other drive than c drive where windows is installed..
