  1. Black screen of death after power loss during update of aurora r9

HelloA few days ago, I was updating my alienware aurora r9. Whilst I was doing so, my home lost power and when I got it back I attempted to turn it back on with no success in terms of actually booting. The computer turns on, but will not show anything on the monitor yes, I've checked the connection, won't boot into safe mode or windows recovery environment, will only power on my keyboard not my mouse, and I can't seem to wake up the display by pressing F2 over and over on start to open BIOS or hitting Win+Shift+Ctrl+B. I have with me a usb drive with windows 10 ISO on it, but I've put it i

  2. Windows 7 black screen of death

I read a report a little while ago that said the black screens were nothing to do with updates but due to a malicious program (it hit more than just windows 7 users - vista, xp and 2000 were also prone to the black startup screen of death if infected). My windows 7 install is fully up-to-date and i've never had the black startup screen.

Just run some decent anti virus and you should be safe (i suggest microsoft security essentails since it's free and pretty decent). When you've installed an anti-virus i'd suggest doing a full scen to be sure there's nothing there.

  3. Black Screen of Death

If when you power on your computer, you get no Splash Screen Logo (Dell, HP, etc.) and all you ever see is black, that normally indicates a hardware problem.

I suggest that you get it tested by a Computer Tech.

    Cheers.
