Windows 10: Black Screen of Nothingness in Windows 10

I had a previous issue of the start menu not working in Windows 10. I created a new Windows 10 profile and proceeded to work with that profile, where the start menu would work without any issues.


Now a new problem has surfaced on my Microsoft surface laptop 2. When I logon to this new profile, I get a black screen. I have tried


sfc / scannow


and obviously that hasn't helped.


So the work around for me is to logon to my old profile where the start menu doesn't work Then switch to my new profile where the start menu works.

This will usually restore the screen.

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad
