Windows 10: Black screen- Undoing changes made to my computer

So here's where I'm at at the moment

I've been trying to update for a while and it kept saying not enough space no matter how much I tried to remove, so I brought an external hard drive and tried updating - this didn't work so I stripped it back to the beginning. So it starting installing updates -some I had to remove like solitaire, WhatsApp etc - and I went to bed with it updating, got up this morning with the above. So it does every now and again flick back to start up with the hp logo and a flash of the command box and then it resorts back to the above! Any help would be much appreciated?
