Windows 10: Black screen when opening Wordpad

Hello,


every time I open WordPad or LibreOffice any program of the product family my Windows 10 completely crashes with a black screen and needs manual power down by hard killing the system by pressing the power button for an extended amount of time. The crash occurs as soon as the editor has loaded and was shown for a fraction of a second. Ms Office Word however works normally.


When I check the system event logs afterwards, I can find following errors:

• Error: HAXM Failed to init VMX
• Error: HAXM can't work on system without VT support
• Error: The IntelHaxm service failed to start due to the following error:
  A device attached to the system is not functioning.
• Error: Unable to produce a minidump file from the full dump file.
• Error: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000001 0xffffa6485103fd09, 0x0000000000000000, 0x000000000000ffff, 0x0000000000000000. A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000.

I could not find relevant entries in aht application logs.

I already reinstalled LibreOffice but it showed no effect.

I am not entirely sure, if it is helpful to resolve the problem, but I recently changed the user and system language from German to English US. It did definitely work before.

WordPad issue

I like to suggest you some steps as per my last experience follow these:
Click -> Start menu -> type ‘WordPad' in the taskbar-> search and click on the result. -> open WordPad.
If you’re find difficulty to open WordPad,
the Press -> Windows + R key -> type ‘Write’ -> hit enter.
You will WordPad application launching on the
screen.
or
Navigate this path C:\windows\system32\ you will see a ‘write’ (File).
The application is here now.




or
Just run an Office repair sofwtare to check if there will be any changes on the Word pad.

Sorry but they are not. I've been trying to find WordPad on Windows 10. The only things listed under Windows Accessories are Internet Explorer and Notepad. None of the suggestions which came up when I googled the problem worked. I downloaded something
called Wordpad 10, but all that does is present a black screen and won't open any *.rtf or *.doc files. How do I get hold of this elusive prog?

Please provide some additional information, so that we can assist you better.

What exactly you mean when you say ‘deleted’, are you referring to the application which was showing in the Start menu or the application was uninstalled from your computer?

WordPad is a basic word processor that is included with almost all the versions of Microsoft Windows.

I would suggest you to follow below mentioned steps.

1. Click on Start menu and type ‘WordPad' in the taskbar search and click on the result. This will open WordPad.
   
2. If you’re not able to open WordPad, Press
   Windows + R and type ‘Write’ and hit enter.
   
3. You will WordPad application launching on the
   screen.
   
4. Navigate to C:\windows\system32\ and look for a ‘write’ (File).
   
5. You will see the application now.
