Windows 10: Black screen. Windows update.

I spent 6 hours last night staying up til 4 am to fix some God forsaken black screen bug on windows 10. I finally found the problem. It was the App readlines service, thing is this broke my task manager and I could no longer adjust volume, connect to wifi, open start menu etc. But I said fuck it and went to bed. I wake up and try to fix this new problem. After hours and hours somehow my windows got so corrupted I could no longer access any folders, create new files, go into settings, basically anything I couldn't even do anything in safe mode. I had to reinstall windows and installing everything back was a pain BUT it fixed everything finally. Now like 1 hour before this post I restart my pc, I see windows updating. and the problem is fucking back. Black screen, app readlines causing it. If I disable it I can no longer access shit in task bar and it'll probably end up slowly getting more and more corrupted. What do I do? Is there anything I can do besides reinstalling windows 10 again and disabling automatic updates?

• When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
  
• Did you get any error code or error message?

Windows 7 black screen of death

I read a report a little while ago that said the black screens were nothing to do with updates but due to a malicious program (it hit more than just windows 7 users - vista, xp and 2000 were also prone to the black startup screen of death if infected). My windows 7 install is fully up-to-date and i've never had the black startup screen.

Just run some decent anti virus and you should be safe (i suggest microsoft security essentails since it's free and pretty decent). When you've installed an anti-virus i'd suggest doing a full scen to be sure there's nothing there.
