Windows 10: Black screen with blue spinner wheel, HP desktop PC running windows 11

Hello - I have seen many people post similar questions but I haven't had luck with the suggested responses.I have an HP Envy desktop plugged into a pretty new monitor. My husband said the graphics were looking grainy yesterday so he started messing with cables. It froze and he turned it off, and now when we turn it on we can't get past the black screen with blue spinning wheel.We've tried:- restart/off/restart/off/restart/off/restart to force it into recovery mode no dice- confirming all cables and monitor nope- hitting either holding or repeatedly tapping esc or delete or F2, F10, F11,

  • Lenovo W520
• Do you get any error messages on the screen?
  • No errors on the screen

• Which application are you trying to launch?
  • I am only having difficulty upon bootup

More specifically. When I power up my Laptop I get initially black screen with windows logo in the middle and small spinning wheel below that for few minutes. After which, I get an all blue screen with spinning wheel in the middle and no messages. That will
last for hours (~8hours) Then I will finally get login prompt and capable to login.

I did check for updates and the computer completed those updates however there has been no change.

I will try later to install the other drivers you suggest once my computer has finished booting..

It's possible that certain drivers, such as USB and other device drivers are causing blue screen errors on your PC. Another factor is due to a conflicting third-party software. Now, before we get into the solution, were you able to boot your computer normally
or can it boot to the desktop screen? If yes, then we suggest that you run the
Hardware diagnostic tool on your PC. Just type troubleshooter on the
Search box, press Enter, then look for
Hardware and Devices, and click Run the troubleshooter.

If the troubleshooter didn't resolve the port issue, then might as well you update the USB driver, and the BIOS firmware of your computer.

Windows 10 update has caused a black screen in mm HP pc.

The windows 10 update on 12 September 2017 has created havoc on my HP pc ranging from blue to black screens to brown screen. The current blockage is when attempting to sign in the screen displays "The User Profile Service service failed the sign - in".

User profile cannot be loaded . The prompt suggests you select ok and then the system the reverts to the screen saver.

Any positive ideas?
