Windows 10: Black screen with loading cursor

I just briefly closed the lid to go to the bathroom and when I came back it was stuck. Cursor can move but nothing I can do. Holding power button makes screen go dark for a moment, then go back to loading cursor modeEdit: tried messing around with some buttons, now stuck on black screen with normal cursor. Now holding power shows a 'slide to shut down your pc' but still goes back to same screen whenever I turn it on

I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 8 and not 8.1 with black screen and cursor I had no password so it should automatically load into account but it did not plus I tried ctrl key and enter plus all other key combinations but nothing and waited for half an hour. Please help all suggestions are welcomed!

P.S. I can see the cursor and the loading windows logo so no imbecile answers like graphic card driver or monitor driver for god sake

I have tried following the steps of booting into safe mode, going into the control panel and uninstalling the latest windows update that caused the 'Windows black screen with cursor' error. However, now it wont even boot to the desktop, it will show 'Automatic repairs being done' and then automatically booting to safe mode. Upon checking my BIOS, the SSD drive with windows installed with it, is not even showing up in the boot list/priority. (still able to see drive in bios under System status and when checking under windows installation time.)

• When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
  
• Did you get any error code or error message?
