Windows 10: Black screen with thin line of desktop on top

Have a black screen on top of desktop and can interact with the desktop and computer itself as well as the cursor but only in the thin area. The only way I know I’m interacting with it is because of color change and the cursor will appear in the clear area on top but has an after image of itself. How can I fix this? What may have caused this?I shutdown my pc with the power button on it and turned off the monitor then unplugged hdmi and monitor power chord for ~20mins and when I plugged them back in and turned everything back on the black on the screen closest to the top disappeared and reappea

Black Vertical Line just on my desktop screen

Hi there,

I also have the same problem. Laptop is two weeks old, updated to Windows 10 a few days ago. It is just on my desktop screen, a black vertical line in the middle. Goes away when I restart the computer then just reappears. Tried to update display drivers
and they are ok, line is still there. Any other suggestions?

• When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
