    Hi,

    I downloaded Windows10 two nights ago, the download seemed to go well until it came time logging on. I was able to enter my password, pressed enter and got a black screen rendering my laptop useless. Has anyone else experienced this type of problem and managed to resolve it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    The screen with the Date and Time is the lock screen. Do you click on it and then get the Log on screen?

    How long is the black screen?

    Is there a HP logo screen before the black screen or is the black scree the only thing before the Lock screen?

    The black screen remain for 20-30sec .

    black screen is only seen before the lock but sometime before the hp logo also black screen is seen

    yes,,,I have the same problem. The only way I could fix it was to revert back to Win 7. For some reason, my boot up is trying to access 2 monitors even though I do not have the second monitor attached. I have a Dell 1720 laptop. On Dell's website, it is saying it does not support win 10 on the model I have. I thought it would install no matter how old the pc is.
