    Black Screen

What's going on guys... Still having a sleu of problems over here, but today marked a new one.... after almost nearing the work day at the studio I was trying to upload a set of files, and all of a sudden the screen went black but the music kept playing, so it didn't crash, but right prior to it going black I was getting some lag and pausing. When i rebooted the machine and checked teh event viewer I see right before it happened,

"Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: Photoshop.exe (17204) consumed 12298973184 bytes, Lightroom.exe (700) consumed 6731354112 bytes, and ROESWebStart.exe (6528) consumed 4798763008 bytes"

I'm pretty confident I couldn't of ran out of memory, I'm pushing 32gb in the system.

I also got a "Crash Dump Initialization Failed"

Since I'm running an M.2 SSD card for the OS and programs,... I did turn off No Paging File for the drive and also, unchecked "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives"

Any suggestions? I do have a new PSU unit coming in under warranty due to the lagging issues I've been having and the electronic hang up I recieve randomly. If anything, I'm just going down the line of hardware that is causing the bottleneck of issues trying to figure out what is faulty.

    :)

The screen with the Date and Time is the lock screen. Do you click on it and then get the Log on screen?

How long is the black screen?

Is there a HP logo screen before the black screen or is the black scree the only thing before the Lock screen?

In addition, this just happened which is new. Proceeded to get worse to before I had to do a restart. I thought it was GPU issue at first, but then i moved the window and found out that it was isolated to just the window.... almost like a plugin was crashing. My mind is mush now, no idea if this is a GPU Issue, or PSU issue.

Took me a little longer to find the file. For some reason had to go the back end to find it on the desktop, not sure why.

    1) Open Ccleaner > click windows tab > scroll down to system and advanced > post an image into the thread

    3) In the left lower corner search type: system or system control > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings
    > on the advanced tab under startup and recovery click settings > post an image of the startup and recovery into the thread.
    > on the advanced tab under performance > click on settings > click on advanced tab > under virtual memory click on change > post an image of the virtual memory tab into the thread
    4) In the left lower corner search type services > open windows error reporting service > scroll to the startup type column > right click > left click on properties > post an image into the thread
    5) Download and install Whocrashed > in the left upper corner above analyze click on tools > crash dump test > type: ACCEPT
Resplendence Software - WhoCrashed, automatic crash dump analyzer
    6) Click analyze > look for dead or deaddead in the results > post the results into the thread
    7) Run the DM log collector after all of the above steps and post a zip into the thread:
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums
    8) open device manager > click on view > show hidden devices > expand all rows > look for any row with a yellow triangle and black exclamation mark icon and post images into the thread

If you check the properties window for that item, go to the details tab, and grab the Hardware IDs. It should be something like:

    USB\VID_174C&PID_2074&REV_0100
    USB\VID_174C&PID_2074

You can use this information to look up vendor and device info, and start seeking out (potential) driver help and fixes from there. I usually Google those vendor IDs as a way to get things going. Using the foregoing string, for example, I can tell I grabbed it from one of my generic USB 2.0 hubs.

Ccleaner > un-check memory dumps and Windows log files
Startup and recovery > system failure > un-check automatic restart
Virtual memory > check automatically manage paging file size for all drives
Windows error reporting services startup type > automatic

Code: Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) USB\VID_0000&PID_0002\6&24DB078F&0&4 43[/quote]

Solved the yellow exclamation point issue only. Turns out that it was a Wireless Phone Charger plugged into a USB 3.0 Hub flaggin that in Device Manager. Other problems still persist *Sad
