    Blank Screen after installing recomended updates.


    I have a HP ENVY 700 PC Series desktop computer.

    I installed three recommended updates. After the updates were installed the start screen came up and after inputting my password I got the welcome message and then the screen went blank. The only thing showing is the mouse pointer.

    I can get the task manager to show and after tapping f11 at startup I can get the various repair solutions to show. However none of them are resolving the problem. The Recovery Manager/File Backup Program fails after copying 8 of 13 discs. The system Restore does not complete and I get error 0x800700b7.

    I have numerous photos emails and other important data on the computer that I don't want to lose.
    Can anyone please tell me what I can do to resolve this problem.

    Same question -- after 1703 update installed, Edge opens with a blank (shell) screen, but displays nothing, is making no connection.
