    I accidentally stopped the Windows File Explorer service via Task Manager. After restarting the system, the computer boots to a black screen with a movable cursor before the login screen appears. I never get to the login screen or desktop.Safe Mode works normally — both my main account and a test account created via Command Prompt log in fine there.What I’ve Done So Far:Checked the Shell registry key to confirm it’s still set to explorer.exe. It was.Ran SFC and DISM scans in Safe Mode. No issues found.Disabled startup programs through msconfig and the registry under both HKEY_CURRENT_USER and

    Blank screen on startup...

    I've got an old Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-G motherboard lying around. But I only get a blank screen on startup. I get the ram beeps and everything, just no screen??

    Any ideas on where to look for the prob?

    Any help would be welcome

    need more information on the rig your on about, psu, graphics card, ram , cpu

    what beeps are you getting?? that could be telling you what the problem is

    I have a Lenovo All in One and while using my screen went blank . Now the only thing that is visible on the black or gray screen is the curser arrow for the mouse and nothing else , Any suggestions ?
