Windows 10: Blank Sign-in window on any app microsoft store, office, account settings etc.

I need to sign-in into Office to be able to use Word and PowerPoint, I also get a notification saying I need to update my account info.


Whenever I sign-in, after clicking my account or entering email, a window would pop up where I think I need to input my password for verification. However, the window is blank. I tried waiting for a couple of minutes, thinking it needs to load the log-in screen, but it stays blank with the close button on the top-right corner.


What is this? How can I fix this?

I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store

There's a possibility that you are currently signed in on your computer using your local account. For us to sort this out, we suggest that you sign in with your Microsoft account instead. Follow these steps:

• Open Settings > Accounts > Your email and accounts.
• Select Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.
• Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once signed in with your Microsoft account on your computer, try signing into the Windows Store app.

Update us with the result.

Yes. When you sign in to the Store with a Microsoft account like in step 5 in Option Two of the tutorial below instead of switching to a Microsoft account you will and stay a local account.
