    Blinking taskbar

I'm having some weird issues with the Windows taskbar and flashing icons. For example, say I drag an image file from my folders to Google Chrome. The first time it'll show up as a minimized window so that I can open the window and drag my file into a new tab. If I then decide not to do that and drag the file into it again it'll do nothing, just blink orange and nothing more.

I'm also experiencing a similar issue with opening images regularly. They'll open by themselves the first time but on subsequent interaction they'll open-ish. They'll stay blinking in the taskbar and I have to click the icon manually. It seems to reset if I open a browser window and then go back to my folder but it also seems kinda random. I'm not sure if it's a setting I've accidentally activated or a bug.

Restarting the computer hasn't helped much, using Windows 10 Home Edition.

Taskbar icons blinking when using Chrome

    Hello,

We need to do further investigation on your concern so that we can identify why the Taskbar is blinking when you are using Google Chrome.

    • Have you recently made any change/updates prior to this issue?
    • Is the said browser pinned in the Taskbar?
    • If so, have you tried unpinning it from the Taskbar?

In the meantime, we suggest that you try to run the Compatibility troubleshooter to isolate the issue. Here's how

    • Right-click the Google Chrome browser.
    • Click-on Properties.
    • Click-on the Compatibility tab.
    • Click-on the Run compatibility troubleshooter button.
    • Choose Try recommended Settings.
    • Click-on the Test the program button to check if it is the same.
    • Hit Next, then choose the next option, depending on the results of the test.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

  3. exasperating orange taskbar blinking

    Hi,

Notifications in Windows are present to draw your attention to programs or areas that require your immediate attention. Just to ask, aside from the game you're trying to play, does it also happen to your other applications/programs?
If yes, can you please provide us with a screenshot of it along with the said orange blinking of the taskbar? You may refer to this

    link
on how to include a screenshot in your post.

Furthermore, we suggest that you update the drivers in Windows 10 as an initial troubleshooting steps. Here's how:

    • Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.

    • Expand one of the categories to find the name of your device, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select Update Driver. For graphics cards, expand the Display adapters category, right click your graphics card and
      select Update Driver.

    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

    • If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver: Open Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) the name of the device, and select Uninstall. Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

We're looking forward to your response.
