Windows 10: Blocked Account / Recovery Form not working

I created a new account, but I have accidentally entered a wrong password due to network issues. . I tried filling out the recovery form, but I could not remember enough information, so it got rejected. Been Trying to access my account. the sad thing is i have newly purchased MS Office with this account now i can't access both office and my account. Fyi, your verification process is not working.

I understand that you have upgraded to Windows again after performing reset.

Have you tried to restart the system again to check whether the Windows 10 is downgraded to previous version?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1:

As the Windows 10 creates the new user account automatically, I suggest you to run the Microsoft account troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Step 2:

As you have linked your Microsoft account in Windows 10, I suggest you to switch back to the local account if you wish.

How to switch to a local account from Microsoft account.

  Press “Windows + I” keys to open settings (When you get the error “Critical error-start menu and Cortana not working”).
  
• 
  Select Accounts.
  
• 
  On the right side, it will show your current account with an option "Switch to a local account”.
  
• 
  Select “switch to a local account” and follow the steps to switch your Microsoft account into a local account. Once this is done your Microsoft account is safe and not linked with that computer anymore.
  

Note:

• 
  You may not delete the recovery drive, as it will help you to recover the Windows in future if the Windows is not working properly.
  
• 
  If you are using Microsoft account to login to Windows 10, there is no option to disable the password and sign in to Windows 10 directly without entering password. If you are using Local account to login to Windows 10, you can
  disable the password and sign in to Windows 10 directly without entering password.

No Codes, Recovery Form Bugged, Cant log-in, Windows/Microsoft Account

Hello amazing team - I'm having issues with my Microsoft account & it's preventing me from signing into Windows on my main account.

Hope you can help because I'm seriously at a loss.

WHAT GOT ME HERE?

• I was logged in until yesterday on my second Windows account.
  
• I accidentally kicked the power adapter under my desk, and it shut off my PC.
  
• On reboot, my profile sign-in was corrupted (pin not available). Did the usual, & but had to restore my windows image with DISM.
  
• Normally I sign in with my pin, but I was asked for my Microsoft password.
  
• However, I had just reset it to something so overly complicated that even the NSA couldn't crack it...
  

THE ISSUE:

• I didn't have access to my authenticator (just reset my phone)
  
• I didn't remember my password, I selected "Forgot Password."
  
• I then selected "more options" (I have 3 verification methods + 2 step enabled)
  
• I then used my other 2 two-step methods.
  
• I used SMS text, and I entered in the code.
  
• I then used the one sent to my Gmail, and I entered in that code.
  
• The code didn't work because I copy-pasted it wrong.
  
• I then accidentally closed the window, so I had to do it all over again, however when I hit receive SMS, I never got a new one.
  
• When I hit email verification, I never got a new one.
  

TROUBLESHOOTING:

1. I have followed troubleshooting guide for resetting password.
   
2. I have logged out of my email.
   
3. I have reset my cookies.
   
4. I have tried a private browser.
   
5. I have tried a different browser.
   
6. I have tried a different device.
   
7. I have shut off my phone.
   
8. I have rebooted my phone via apple's tech method.
   
9. I have double-checked that there is no SMS message blocking of "unknown senders."
   
10. I have toggled on/off airplane mode.
    
11. I have added your support domains to trusted senders.
    
12. I have added your support domains to my contacts.
    
13. I have verified they are not blocked.
    
14. I have waited over 10+ hours to retry this again.
    

I have EVEN tried the Recovery Form which shows the wrong domain name

• Domain it should say:
  s*****@GMAIL.COM
  
• Domain it shows up as:
  s*****@HOTMAIL.COM
  
  

The questions I have to answer on the form also aren't relevant & then it auto rejects...

• It asks if I have used Skype, Xbox, or outlook, & I haven't...unless you count the auto-account-creation & sign-on that happens with Skype on first windows boot-up.
  
• It did ask for credit-card on file info (last 4, dates, code on back) which I have triple checked and verified by receipt emails in my linked recovery email / alt email.
  

TL; DR:

• Was getting verification codes.
  
• Now I'm NOT.
  
• I tried ALL troubleshooting guides.
  
• They aren't working.
  
• The recovery form is bugged & it links to the wrong domain.
  

 

Email Account recovery, any alternatives

Was there a 2+ years time gap since you used this account last time? If so, you won't be able to recover it. It is closed due to inactivities.

Another factor to consider when you use the recovery form - if your account has two step verification turned on, that form will not work, which is mentioned in this support document: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-bil...

If the account was recently used, and you don't have two steps verification enabled, then the recovery form is really the only way. If Microsoft doesn't approve it, there's unfortunately no other way.
