Blocked programs and not full administrator rights?

So both me and my friend upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10, at first everything was going fine the OS worked perfectly and it felt very fluid however when we attempted to install or play certain games/programs we encountered that we were no longer able to control whether to allow them to be used or installed?

The 2 programs that we encountered this on was installing Nvidia PhysX and playing a game named Infestation Thailand.

The message I received when I attempted to play Infestation Thailand was that the Administrator had blocked this program from running however I never blocked it and strangely enough upon first install the game booted up fine whereas now I cannot even open the launcher without it saying that.

My friend said that it told him that the administrator has blocked him from installing this program (Nvidia PhysX).

Now bare in mind that both of us where adminstrators on Windows 7 and also we were both able to play Infestation Thailand and install PhysX without any issues.

    :)

Administrator blocked you from running this program

the issue is with a program called compuhost it is my karaoke player. this is a stand alone laptop connected to our wireless network through Comcast. This program functioned a few days ago, but know it tells me that an administrator has blocked it for my
safety. This is not an issue of being blocked by the firewall, the program has simply been blocked from running on the computer.

An administrator has blocked you from running this app. for more information contact the administrator.

    program file compuhost

    publisher not trusted

file origin file on this harddrive

file location program files (x86) compuhost/compuhost.exe

    this is the message.

    I am the administrator.

  3. I am trying to install some accounts software, but do not seem to have the correct permissions

I am still have issues here... my "administrator" status still seems limited, and I believe this is where my inability to install my software originates.

In order to install the program upgrade, I am told by the software house that I need to have "full permissions" to the Common Files in both Programs and Programs (x86).

I am able to set 'Programs (x86)' permissions to "full" but even in administrator sign in I am blocked from editing the Common Files security in 'Programs'.

Can you tell me why this is and what I can do? (please also note that I have done an error 1721 check and there are no issues arising).

Blocked programs and not full administrator rights?

First, you have to understand that just because your account is set to be an administrator, this has nothing to do with the message you received. The message is due to restrictions set in Group Policy (which is something usually configured by enterprise administrators).

More than likely, this is a case of something messing with the registry. Did you run any registry cleaners, or attempt to use any "system optimization" tools? These tools are created for older versions of the OS and are unaware of changes in the new OS and therefore can cause problems.

Another option is whether you used some kind of hack or tool to customize the OS in any way?

If all else fails, you may have to reinstall from clean base image.

Okay so I have not installed any mods or cleaners since I have installed Windows 10 however a long time ago I think I did but that was on my old OS so do you think that it could still be affecting Windows 10?

After hours of me trying to trouble shoot my friends computer I managed to fix his administration problems however his start button no longer worked we fixed this by using the windows tool which allows you reinstall windows and delete pretty much everything. He told me today that everything is working as usual but I'm not sure he has tried installing PhysX again.

Would it be a good idea to simply reinstall my Windows as well?

That's probably the best way to go about it.
