Hi, I appologize for my general lack of knowing, but for the PC at home I have an Administrator account and my brother has a User account. There are websites that I block for him with hosts file, usually time-wasting sites so he can focus on his studies. And a great help for me in the past was an app that makes it easier to block programs, or set limits or schedules. 3. Default group permissions for ProgramData folder?

Here are the User permissions I have in my Windows 10 Home Explorer for Program Data:

CREATOR OWNER - Allow Special Permissions

SYSTEM - Allow Full control, Modify, Read & Execute, List folder contents, Read, Write

    Administrators - Same as System

Users - Read & Execute, List folder contents, Read, Special Permissions

There are also default Windows 10 NTFS file permissions here:

    Need to make ProgramData visible

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to make the ProgramData folder visible. We will help you.

As per the description I understand that even after setting as show hidden files also you are unable to locate the folder.

This issue could have caused due to user profile corruption also.

    • Try to directly type the folder location in the file explorer address bar
and check if it is able to access the folder.
    • Open File Explorer and type C:\ProgramData
      and hit Enter.

I suggest you to try creating a new user account
    and check if issue persists.

Click on the below link to check how to create new user account in Windows 10
