  1. Blocking Scripting and Trusted Zones to secure IE code

In Windows 11, 10, 8.1, and 7, Internet Options has a Zone section under Security. Since IE is still a part of even Windows 11, I'd like to use this feature to make Windows more secure by setting Scripting/Active Scripting to Prompt instead of Allow in the Internet Zone. To minimize annoyance of the user, I've added required domains to the Trusted Zone list. This allow scripting to run when those domains are involved without the Prompt. However, even if I include every domain the PC contacts when IE's code is invoked, I still get about 4 prompts to run scripts. An example of Windows using IE c

    Script error when opening services.msc

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

    Apologize for the late reply.

It would be really helpful if you could provide us the complete script error.

To troubleshoot on the issue, you can follow these steps:

    • From desktop, press "Windows key + R" and type "inetcpl.cpl" (without quotes) and press OK.
    • In the "Internet Options" window select the "Security" tab.
    • On the "Security" tab click on the "Custom level..." button.
    • When the "Security Settings - Internet Zone" dialog window opens, look for the "Scripting" section.
    • In the "Active Scripting" item select "Enable".
    • When the "Warning!" window pops out asking "Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?" select "Yes".
    • In the "Internet Options" window click on the "OK" button to close it.
    Now, check the issue.

    Let us know the result.

how do you ublock HP software in wondows 10?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

If the software you are referring to is blocked by your Anti-virus software, please let us know the Anti-software you have installed on your computer.

If you would like to add a website to the Security zone in Internet Explorer, then try the following steps.

Internet Explorer automatically assigns all websites to a security zone: Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, or Restricted sites. Each zone has a different default security level that determines what kind of content might be blocked for that site.

Follow these steps to add the website to Security zone.

Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.

    • Tap or click the Tools (Hamburger) button, and then tap or click
      Internet options.
    • Tap or click the Security tab, choose one of the security zone icons (Local intranet,
Trusted sites, or Restricted sites), and then tap or click
Sites. You can add sites to the zone you chose, or delete sites that you no longer want in this zone.
    • If you chose Local intranet in the previous step, tap or click
      Advanced, and do the following:
      • Add a site—enter a URL into the Add this website to the zone box, and then tap or click
        Add.
Hope this will help you. Feel free to post us if you need further assistance. We’ll be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.
