Windows 10: Blue screen Ntfs.sys on Windows Server with Hyper-V host, replica and backup on NAS Server.

Hello. I have several servers with Windows Server 2016 and Hyper-V installed. Each has several virtual machines with Windows Server. Each virtual machine has a replica of another physical server and a backup of the NAS server, which is made overnight. Since some of the virtual machines are small in size, 60-120GB, I decided to make the backup of Hyper-V virtual machines on a dedicated disk on the NAS server.After about two weeks of normal operation, one Sunday morning at 5:50 am the physical server on which Hyper-V is running stops working and a blue screen appears with an error Ntfs.sys. Activate Windows Server 2022 Datacenter on Hyper-V Host with Windows Server 2019 Datacenter

Hi!

I tried to aktivate a new VM on my Hyper-V Host.

The Hyper-V Host is a Windows Server 2019 DataCenter Core.

The new VM is a Windows Server 2022 DataCenter (with GUI).

For the activation by Host i use the AVMA-Key for Windows Server 2022 DataCenter but the Server couldn´t be activated with this key.

Why? Isn´t possible to use a WinSrv 2022 DC as guest on a WinSrv 2019 DC Host?

Hyper V Killing server Storage

We are using windows server 2019 in our data center as Hyper V Host server. we have 5 guest server in Hyper V, all the hyper V data is in D drive, now we are having an issue with storage, everyday the drive increasing 5 GB and we have only 40 GB free Space. can anyone advice how can stop the increasing the Hyper V file size.

 

Win10 Pro - Hyper-V hosting a Server 2012 R2 Server + Gaming on Host?

Hi,

I run a home server for Hosting file shares, a Plex server, an LMS Squeezebox server, and Ubiquiti management server. The hardware is about 8 years old and I`m looking to upgrade.

One thing I would like to do is some VR gaming (Elite Dangerous specifically) and I`m thinking about leveraging the new hardware to host the server in a Hyper-V VM on the Windows 10 Pro machine, and then install Elite Dangerous on the host operating system for some VR gaming action.

As the 2012 R2 server hosts a number of essential services for the home, it needs to be running reliably 24/7, even when Im gaming on the host (which will be infrequently). The services running on the 2012 server take very little resources.

My question is - assuming I spec a good multi-core system, with plenty of RAM and a fast SSD for the OS - are there any issues with the approach I`m suggesting?

Would VR gaming work reliably in this configuration?
