Blue Screen of Death - Possibly NVIDIA Driver

Hi all,I have been having some BSOD errors on my computer. They started out as KERNEL MODE HEAP CORRUPTION and BAD POOL CALLER. I tried working through the typical steps scan with SFC, Scan with dism.exe, and check RAM. I would have the BSOD come up a few times within an hour and then I wouldn't get it for a day or two. This morning I did a reset of my PC where I kept my files. Within an hour of resetting, I had my screen flash black for a second once or twice and then another BSOD. From what I can tell it may be linked to my NVIDIA driver. In device manager, I try looking for updates and it s

nvidia driver issues resulting in various blue screens of death

The problems started on may 3rd iirc.

I was browsing when me pc froze. When i tried to reboot my pc it gave me a blue screen before i even got to the desktop (cant remember which error it gave).

After a couple of failed attempts to repair windows i decided to reinstall windows completely.

everything was fine except whenever i tried to install video driver it would give my a black screen and when i reboot i would get a blue screen with the error message "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal nvlddmkm.sys".

however i've tested my brother gtx 970 in my computer and it works just fine with the latest drivers.

I've also tested my gtx 580 in another windows 7 pc and it works just fine.

I gave up on the problem a couple of days ago but decided to test a couple of possible solutions again today.

none of which worked. another blue screen of death has take the place of the "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal nvlddmkm.sys" message though. When i try to install nvidia drivers the screen now goes black for a while and then (without rebooting) i get a blue
screen but it has another message and then windows reboots.

i have tried to get my gtx 580 working again on a clean windows 7 install but i get hit by the same blue screens of death.

Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.

here is a link to the .rar with my last 3 minidump files aswell as my system info.

the "driver_irql_not_less_or_equal nvlddmkm.sys" is probably not in there as the last three bsod's happened while installing the nvidia driver.

any suggestions on how to fix this?

    thank you for your time.

    Blue Screen of Death

    Hi Kevin,

I am sorry to know that you are getting Blue screen errors.

Along with the suggestion provided by ZigZag, try the steps below.

If you see the blue screen only after sign-in
and you can see a mouse cursor:

    • While at the black screen, try using CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to start Task Manager.
    • If it becomes visible, try finding LockAppHost.exe on the Details tab and ending the task.
    • If this resolves the blue screen, use corruption resolution steps (dism, then sfc), and run the all apps PowerShell command.
    powershell

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support

Fix Windows corruption errors by using the DISM or System Update Readiness tool:

Fix Windows Update errors via DISM or ws Server

To uninstall a driver refer the steps below.

    • Press Windows Logo Key+X. Click On
      Device Manager.

    • Then find the driver that you are trying to uninstall and right-click on it to
      Uninstall.
