  2. Help with blue screen please

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your concern here in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 Family.

From the description provided, I understand that you are experiencing Blue Screen Error with an error code.

Since you are not able to login to Windows to perform any further troubleshooting, I would suggest you to perform an Automatic repair of the system using a bootable media.

Automatic Repair is a Windows recovery tool that can fix certain system problems that might prevent Windows from starting. Automatic Repair scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so your computer
can start correctly. Run Automatic repair and check the issue status.

Create Windows 10 ISO: Download Windows 10

Please follow the below steps to perform the Start Up repair for the computer.

    a) Insert the Installation Disk into the disk drive of the computer. Press any key from the keyboard when prompted to.

    b) Follow the instructions till the Install Now screen and then Click
    Repair your computer.

    c) Click Advanced Options.

    d) Click Troubleshoot.

    e) Click Automatic Repair.

    f) Follow the on screen instructions.

Hope the above information was helpful. If you need further information, feel free to write to us and we would be happy to help you.

    Thank You.

  3. Help with blue screen please

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per the description, I understand that you are facing some issues using Windows 10.

This might have occurred due to some third party application conflicts.

    Try the methods.

Method 1: Start computer in safe mode and then perform clean boot.

Step 1: Start computer in safe mode

    a. When you hit the power button in Windows 8.1 (through Charms Bar), hold down the
Shift key when clicking the Restart button.

    b. The next screen will present you with three options. Click
    Troubleshoot.

    c. Next, hit Advanced options followed by Windows Startup Settings from the next screen.

    d. Your PC will now be rebooted to enable the advanced parameters, which include Safe Mode as well. Once it restarts, you’ll get nine options whereby the following commands apply:

    F4 for Safe Mode

F5 for Safe Mode with Networking

F6 for Safe Mode with Command Prompt

For more information you may refer to the article mentioned below.

    Windows Startup Settings (including
    safe mode)

Step 2: Perform clean boot to avoid any third party software conflict.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: Refer "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as normal after troubleshooting.

    Method 2:

Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. It will scan your system files and to repair missing or corrupted system files in Windows. To run the SFC scan,
refer to the Microsoft article below.

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 3:

I would suggest you to temporarily disable the antivirus security software program installed on your computer and check if that helps.

Disclaimer: Antivirus software helps protecting your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software
and\or troubleshoot any pertinent issue, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you are connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to malware attacks.

Hope this information helps. Please let us know if you need any other assistance with Windows in future. We will be happy to assist you.

    blue screen please help

There were approximately 15 crashes between 11/8/2017 and 12/7/2017.
During the same period there was only 1 BSOD minidump.
The bugcheck was 9F Driver power state failure
This mini dump when debugged did not display a definitive misbehaving driver.
    It suggested drive related problems.
The logs displayed numerous problems with the drives:
    paging errors
    surprise removed
    IO retried
    controller errors
    corruption of the file system
    storage device internal dumps
    needed offline scans

For all tests please make sure that there are images posted into the thread.
If there are any problems posting images please use one drive or drop box share links.

    Perform the following steps:
    1) open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    2) sfc /scannow
    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    4) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    5) chkdsk /x /f /r
Use the syntax: chkdsk /x /f /r C: or chkdsk /x /f /r D: changing the drive letter to the applicable partition
    6) Test all drive partitions with chkdsk /x /f /r
This may take many hours so plan to run the test overnight

    C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk /x /f /r
The type of the file system is NTFS.
    Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

    Type: y
    reboot

    7) Find the results of the chkdsk scans in the event viewer using the information in this link and post share links into the thread:
Read Chkdsk Log in Event Viewer in Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

    8) Run HDTune: https://www.windowsphoneinfo.com/th...eenshot in Windows 10 General Tips Tutorials

    9) open device manager > click view > show hidden devices > expand all rows > look for any row with a yellow triangle and black exclamation mark > post images into the thread

    10) If you use Ccleaner > click Windows tab > scroll to system and advanced > post an image into the thread

    11) in the left lower corner search type system > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings > on the advanced tab under startup and recovery click settings > post an image into the thread

    12) in the left lower corner search type clean > open disk cleanup > scroll up and down and post images into the thread

    13) Please make sure that there is no over clocking during the troubleshooting process

    14) Sometimes there are problems in the bios that produce bsod.
The BIOS: BVersion/Date American Megatrends Inc. F1, 3/17/2015 SMBIOS Version 2.7
    15) Please check to see if this is the most up to date version.

Please post the website URL or hyperlink into the thread for the webpage for the computer's drivers.

    16) To ensure that there are no improper bios settings please reset the bios.
    17) Sometimes there can be failure to boot after resetting the bios.

    18) So please make sure your files are backed up.

    19) Please make a backup image with Macrium:
Macrium Software | Your Image is Everything
Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free

    20) And please create a brand new restore point.
