Blue screen shortly after fresh windows 10 install

Hi. I've seem to have gotten a strange issue with my computer. I suddenly got an infinite boot loop accompanied by a blue screen (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL). I connected my SSD drive to a different computer, but with the same result. I then reinstalled W10, but shortly after the same problem occured. My first thinking was that there was something wrong with my SSD drive so I installed Kingston SSD toolbox to check for faults, but it couldn't find anything. I've also run memtest86+ all night without finding any RAM faults. I've now installed W10 on a different hard drive which seems to work fine for now at least. Is it possible for me to have a faulty SSD drive that Kingston toolbox can't detect? Is there anything else I can do to further narrow things down?

    :)

  2. Getting BLUE SCREEN after fresh windows 10 install

Can I perform a clean install using the Free upgrade?

No, it will require that you are running a previous qualifying version and start the upgrade from within the qualifying version. You can initiate a clean install after completing the Upgrade.

Please be aware that you cannot use the free upgrade offer to perform a clean install on first attempt. You must first upgrade from the qualifying version of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 (whether you do
    it through
    Windows Update
or using the .ISO file). Ensure the upgrade is completed successfully and then ensure that it is activated. You can then proceed to do a clean install by using recovery media or using the Reset function in Start > Settings > Update
& Security > Recovery > Reset this PC (Get Started).

    See:

    How
to: Perform a clean install using Reset this PC in Windows 10

    How
to: Create a Recovery Drive for reinstalling Windows 10

You need to reinstall Windows 7 and reactivate it.

    • Disable (preferrably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before attempting the upgrade.
    • Restart a few times and try again.
    • Disable General USB Devices (example - Smart Card Reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI hard disk, make sure you have drivers available for your storage device on a thumdrive and it is connected. During Windows 10 setup, click the Custom Advanced Option and use the Load Driver command to load the appropriate driver
for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and setup still fails, consider switching to a IDE based hard disk.
    • Do a clean boot and try again.
    • If you are upgrading using the .ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during setup, if you are connected by LAN (Ethernet) or Wi-Fi, disable both and attempt setup again.
    • If you are updating through Windows Update, when the download reaches 100% disconnect from the Internet LAN (Ethernet) or Wi-Fi and proceed with the installation.
    • If that does not work, try using the .ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, switch to a local account
    • If you have any external devices attached to the machine, disconnect them (example, gaming controllers, USB keys, external hard disk, printers, non-essential devices).

  3. Getting BLUE SCREEN after fresh windows 10 install

I burned my windows 10 64-bit ISO into a USB and tried a fresh install. While i was choosing my partition i formatted all my partitions including the system reserve one ( which i think was the problem) then the OS started installing and restarted. While
loading after the restart it froze ( The loading circle was stuck) for about 5 minutes so i turned my PC off and turned back on and then it happened again but this time it gave me a blue screen so i restarted again and it loaded up perfectly but when i opened
my my computer it froze and gave me the blue screen again so i tried again and it did the same thing so i reinstalled windows 10 again but this time i didn't format the system reserve partition but the same thing happened.

I was running windows 7 64-bit before this.

It would be great if someone could help me

Blue screen shortly after fresh windows 10 install

It's not an SSD issue, I got the same BOD error on a different drive. Perhaps it's a driver update that causes it? If so, what do I do other than turning off windows update? *Sad
