Windows 10: Blue Screen with Frown Face and 0% download of error on Windows 10 after SSD install

I continue to get this Blue Screen after my IT guy recommended I update my Dell to a SSD drive.


Even though he installed it, he insists it did not cause this issue.


He cannot find anything on it, and since it never gets beyond a 0% download, he says he can find nothing about what is causing it. He states it is a Windows update issue.


It can happen at any time of the day, but I notice it seems to happen the most when I close out my Google Chrome from an internet activity.


I found one gentleman that had the same problem with Windows 8.1 when he installed an SSD Drive, and he provides the way he fixed his computer. I can follow all his steps, except for the last one, which I probably should check even before I start the other steps. That is where he enabled AHCI in the system BIOS.


I've tried to look at several examples about how to see if AHCI is enabled in my BIOS, but none of them seem to work on my computer. My IT guy, who seems to be more and more useless, gave me the same internet instructions I found for Windows 7, but he added Windows 7/10 before he sent it, and the instructions don't work for Windows 10.


After I've paid him a little under $1,000 to work on my computer, install the SSD Drive, and work on my computer some more, he now wants me to purchase a new computer through him and let him install another SSD drive. Not happening.

This issue might have happened due to the hardware replacement on your device.

Step 1: I suggest you to install all the pending updates on your device and check if it helps.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Step 2: Also, contact your device manufacturer's website and update the BIOS drivers to check if the issue persists.
