Blue Screens with various errors related to nvlddmkm.sys

So I made a new thread a few days ago but I marked it as solved because the problem didn't happen for a few days. It is happening again though. In addition to the things I listed as doing in my original post, I followed a analyst directions to remove all drivers installed with DB3 and to run multiple virus scans. Virus scans came back negative. I will also include an updated log. Here is my original post:

    Attachment 60966

Edit: Starting to happen when I open up random things now. (A game, a new tab, a calculator, etc)

    :)

  2. Computer blue screens almost daily with various errors

While running the Windows update today my computer keeps on crashing while the verify of the 1709 update is running.

I ran verifier and rebooted and my computer blue screened immediately.

My system is crashing almost daily and it appears that a bad driver is the issue but I am unable to ascertain which driver is the culprit.

I have uploaded the last 3 mini dumps to Onedrive - https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmVJREaJ93S39S9iU_3jJost5TbE

and my system information - https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmVJREaJ93S39TC4PI-N5QqchL_0

Any help on this issue will be appreciated.

    Thank you

Computer blue screens almost daily with various errors

    Hi Craig,

Most of the time, Blue Screen of Death errors are caused by old or corrupted drivers. Effective troubleshooting steps for are found in this
link. The article should do the magic.

Update us what happens after doing the troubleshooter.

You are using the latest nvdia driver rollback tot the Alienware Nvdia driver from the supportpage.

Two things. First I'm pretty sure that not the problem because I have been using updated drivers for months after that update and I was even using the same update I am using now without any problems. Second that driver isnt optimized for some of the games I play. Are you sure that is the problem? I will try the old driver if you really think that that is the problem, but I would prefer not to if I could avoid it.

    Hi cobalt212,

@lifetec is right, usually laptop manufacturers alter their drivers.
Due to altered drivers, the laptop users are forced to install the drivers provided by the manufacturer for the best garantee of proper functioning. This does not mean you can't install the drivers from Nvidia directly, but when you do this you sometimes may expect problems with the drivers.
For the time of troubleshooting, please install only the drivers your manufacturer provides, after troubleshooting you can install any drivers you want of course *Smile

Unfortunately, there are some dumps corrupted (don't know why), but the last 4 non-corrupted dumps (back to 23th) mentioned your nvidia video driver.
Please install the drivers provided by Dell.

I would also want to ask you to uninstall Avast and use Windows Defender as alternative while troubleshooting for testing purpose.

In response to your question about the DB3 I downloaded what drivers were out of date that were on the dell website, and left the other drivers as their rolled back versions before I used DB3. Do I just wait to see if it happens again now?

Yes, just wait and try *Smile

In case another crash happens, just run the dm log collector again, upload the zip in your next reply and please give some description about what happened and what you were doing.

Giving a description everytime may help us (you, me and others) find a patern, what helps finding the root cause(s) and/or solution(s).

Hm i guess that seemed to fix it. I will mark this as solved. One last question though. Should I experiment with the newer drivers and see if it crashes, or just stick with this old one?
