Thanks for your quick reply and thorough suggestions.

I was successfully able to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and restart my computer, but unfortunately the Blue Snowball mic still does not show up in Device Manager or in any app that uses my mic.

I'm not sure if this is relevant information, but after the Windows 11 update my laptop's fingerprint reader also did not work because of an issue with the driver. I was able to Roll Back the fingerprint senser's drivers and it began to work again. But as I mentioned before, the Roll Back option is greyed-out on the Blue Snowball mic so I was not able to do that (I assume because the Blue Snowball mic doesn't use its own drivers). Anyways, it seems the Windows update may be causing some issues with drivers in Lenovo.

 

Blue Snowball Mic Not Found by Windows 11

I am using Windows Home 11 Version 21H2 OS Build 22000.318 with a Blue Snowball USB mic. I have used this mic for a few years without any issues, but after updating to windows 11 I started experiencing issues. Windows does not consistently recognize the mic, so when I look under Device Manager Blue Snowball mic is not listed. When I view hidden devices I see the greyed-out Snowball mic.

However, if I restart the computer several times and randomly unplug and plug in the USB mic over and over again it will sometimes be recognized by Windows 11 and work without any issue. But after getting the mic to work, if I unplug the mic and plug it in again it is not recognized and the process begins again. This unplug and plug in again process can take up to an hour, which is impractical when I need to plug the mic in before joining an online meeting. Also, I cannot leave the mic plugged in all the time because I have to carry my laptop on the go.

The red light on the mic is always on when it's plugged in and I am able to use the device without any issue on other devices which makes me think it's some issue with Windows 11 on my laptop.

I have tried uninstalling the device via Device Manager, downloading Sherpa from Bluemic.com, updating drivers, trouble shooting via Windows, and verifying all non-Microsoft drivers on my Windows deceive via Driver Verifier Manager but haven't found a permanent solution. I am not able to Roll Back Drivers because that option is greyed out. Turning back to a previous version of windows is also greyed out.

I would like to find a solution that consistently allows windows to recognize the mic without random restarts and unplugging and plugging in again.

Using blue Snowball usb microphone for a xbox mic

Is it possible to use a blue snowball microphone on xbox as a mic just using the cord it came with( the cord that connects the blue snowball to a usb port)
