Windows 10: Blue Snowball Microphone device not recognized

Discus and support Blue Snowball Microphone device not recognized in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I bought a Snowball a few years ago.     I bought a Snowball a few years ago. It worked great on an old computer left behind in an old house, but for some reason it just doesn't work anymore.


    About a month ago, I pulled my Snowball out and plugged it in. But whenever I do, I just get the same message. "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."


    I've tried updating the driver, but it just says it's already updated. I will not deny the irony in having the "best driver" for an "unknown USB device"... how do you know it's the best driver if you don't even know what driver to use?


    I've even manually tried selecting the driver though, I can't seem to find any audio drivers in the list, compatible or otherwise.


    The microphone itself seems to be working at the very least, it lights up and doesn't appear to be physically damaged, so I am fairly convinced it is a software problem. However, I do not have access to another computer to confirm this.

    Blue Snowball Microphone not Recognized by PC

    I bought my Blue Snowball Microphone in April, and it worked fine until June. Then, for some reason, when I would go to plug it in, I would get an error message that says "USB device not recognized." I tried troubleshooting it with the built-in troubleshooter
    for hardware and devices and it told me that it had found and fixed the problem and prompted me to restart my computer. I restarted my computer, and it still didn't work. When I went into Device Manager, the microphone is simply showing up as a USB, not as
    a sound, video, or game controller. I attempted some of the fixes from the following link,

    but none of the ones I tried worked, as most of them were contingent on the device at least being recognized as a recording device. I also can't figure out how to manage my recording devices.

    Blue Snowball iCE Microphone not working

    Hi all,

    I just got a Blue Snowball iCE and it is not working. I followed all published help document around the web and still no luck.

    I have:

    • Uninstalled and reinstalled the driver
    • Tried different USB Ports
    • Making sure my Microphone Privacy Settings were set to on
    • Trying it on another Windows 10 Computer and following all of the above
    I think its broke but I am reaching out to the community to see if there is anything else I can do to get it to work.

    Any Suggestions on how to get it to work?

    I am running Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.17134 Build 17134. If more info is needed let me know.

    Snowball Microphone recognized but not working

    I recently acquired a blue snowball ice microphone and despite it being recognized, it won't pick up any sound whatsoever. I'm on windows 10 and I've ensured that the privacy settings aren't preventing it on that front. Additionally, I've uninstalled and
    reinstalled the drivers in both audio input/output in the device manager and the sounds and game controllers section. At this point I'm wondering if I have to do a fresh install of Windows 10 considering the issues I've had with microphones.
