Windows 10: Blue Snowball not picking up sound properly since Windows 11 upgrade

Over the last couple of years, I have been using a Blue Snowball USB Microphone to record audio for some video projects I have been working on in my spare time. This was with my old HP Pavilion Notebook 15-au076sa which was running Windows 10. A few months ago I purchased a new laptop - a HP Envy x360 which is on Windows 11. Since then my microphone has not been picking up much sound. To compare, on my old laptop, it was so sensitive that you could sometimes hear people talking from across the street; on my new one it exclusively picks up my voice when I am speaking at a regular volume. Blue Snowball Mic Not Found by Windows 11

Thanks for your quick reply and thorough suggestions.

I was successfully able to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and restart my computer, but unfortunately the Blue Snowball mic still does not show up in Device Manager or in any app that uses my mic.

I'm not sure if this is relevant information, but after the Windows 11 update my laptop's fingerprint reader also did not work because of an issue with the driver. I was able to Roll Back the fingerprint senser's drivers and it began to work again. But as I mentioned before, the Roll Back option is greyed-out on the Blue Snowball mic so I was not able to do that (I assume because the Blue Snowball mic doesn't use its own drivers). Anyways, it seems the Windows update may be causing some issues with drivers in Lenovo.

My friend gave me a blue snowball, since I made the move to a computer, and while it works perfectly fine for him, it does not for me.

I have updated drivers, tried to troubleshoot it, everything I can think of.

When it's plugged in, the red light comes on at the top, but it won't pick up sound. I have tried to get it to pick up sound for the past two days, with no success.

 

Blue Snowball Microphone Firmware will not load from SHERPA

I have a Blue Snowball microphone that worked fine on my previous Windows 10 Pro HP laptop. I just upgraded to a Dell laptop, and the Microphone is recognized, but does not work in MS Teams or with other online conference tools.

I read all of the input in this discussion, that suggests installing the Blue SHERPA tool. When I open SHERPA, it randomly knows I have the Blue Snowball microphone, and randomly says I have no Blue devices. When I am lucky enough for SHERPA to find my microphone, I am told the firmware is outdated. If I click to update firmware, I get a message that the install was unsuccessful, and I should reboot. I have been through these steps several times, with no success.

So, it appears the first step is to get updated firmware on this microphone. But, I cannot find how to do this without the Blue SHERPA tool. Can anyone point me to instructions for other ways to update my microphone's firmware?
