Windows 10: Bluescreen after KB5014699 when trying to use windows hotspot

Windows automatically updated me to KB5014699 on Friday but I only use the hotspot on work days. So today when I tried to use it I got bluescreens for a while and even restored an old image until I realized the windows update was the issues. To be fair it does say "After installing this update, Windows devices might be unable use the Wi-Fi hotspot feature. When attempting to use the hotspot feature, the host device might lose the connection to the internet after a client device connects." but the solution they have is just disable hotspot. LOLCome on guys is like saying my windshield wiper is

I think you have already answered both of the other points I would have checked so I have nothing else useful to suggest -
- Your computer can detect other 2.4GHz networks/hotspots
- Other computers can detect your phone's 2.4GHz hotspot

I have deliberately altered some Windows settings to hide unwanted local networks [not just stop any connection to them but hide them from appearing in the list of available networks]. But you have not been taking similar measures or you would have said so.

As a final check, see if your phone's mobile hotspot appears in the list of detected networks using
NirSoft WiFiInfoView
