    Bluescreen on Windows 10

    Hello,

I am experiencing BSODs for quite some time and I would appreciate your assistance.

Currently I don't have many ideas about the cause and I will update the title of the post when I know more.

Please find attached my log files.

    Regards

Update: The logs I attached with the original post was incomplete. This is now fixed.

Update: The number of bluescreens dramatically reduced after I uninstalled language pack/local versions of OneNote a couple of days ago (03.05.2016)—only two BSOD ever since. Unrelatedly, both in the past and in the last two days, BSODs crashes seem to happen mostly in Outlook or Chrome.

    :)

    Because I reinstalled Windows 10.

Last Windows 10 I got a lot of this bluescreen (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION).

    bluescreens occur when playing
games and the battery charger is connected.

  3. Recovering from Windows Insider build blue screen

    Hi,

My surface Pro3 has bluescreened and won;t recover. It was on an older version of Windows 10 windows insider and had not been used for a few weeks. When I started it up it bluescreened.

What is the best way to recover from this ? Wondering with Windows 10 RTM about to release if I need to go straight to that or not.

    Cheers,

    Bluescreen on Windows 10

Run the DM Log Collector again, there are several important files missing.

The dumpfile blames your Intel Wireless 5100 adapter.
Intel and microsoft (and HP) do not have windows 10 drivers for this device.
It is not supported in windows 10.

But some people report that uninstalling this device and let windows 10 update the driver get it working.
    Search/google it.

Unfortunately, the DM Log Collector does not produce any other files for me—a dmp file and a dxdiag file.

Thank you lifetec. I'll try this solution and will report back.

Try running the log collector by right clicking on it and selecting Run as Administrator.

Thanks Ztruker. It was running as administrator the first time as well, but something must have gone wrong.
Now I have the complete output and I am editing my post to attach the complete version.

Now that I updated my thread with more complete log files, I would like to keep lifetec's suggestion as a future option (as I think it could give me quite a bit of trouble if a new driver installation fails) and consider other suggestions based on these more comprehensive logs.

We need to update the BIOS, but be warned that updating the BIOS can cause a bricked motherboard if it goes wrong somehow giving you no option to use the laptop anymore.
Visit below link and try to update the BIOS to the most recent version.

Thank you for your reply axe0!

Unfortunately, there seems to be no HP updates for my BIOS. Would you recommend for or against searching for/flashing BIOS from the motheboard manufacturer's site? (I don't care about HP backup options etc. and only concerned about possible compatibility issues).

By the way, I'm not sure if the line "The platform firmware has corrupted memory across the previous system power transition." refers to the memory only in the context of BIOS, but (in case flashing the BIOS proves to be unfeasible) do you think another possible fix could be to replace my RAMs?

About automatic driver updaters/finders: I tried them as a possible solution a while ago, as there were a few unidentified drivers in my device manager. They indeed seemed to solve the problem (even though there were some complications which I was able to recover from with a system restore). The BSOD's were happending before and after installing these driver updaters though. I will remove them regardless. As a note, I still have an unidentified device in the device manager.

    Attachment 78288

I am assuming that you meant removing the unnecessary USB devices from the device manager. I did so. Shall I proceed and also remove the inactive devices below? :

It refers to the BIOS causing memory corruption, replacing the memory doesn't help regarding the BIOS corrupting it.
Be sure to change the OS at the support page to Windows 7, there it does have a BIOS update.

Removing the devices from device manager will reinstall them after a reboot what isn't what we need, we need to have them physically disconnected from the laptop.

I hope you won't edit too much in your current post so I don't miss anything *Smile

I am not sure what devices were connected during the time of the snapshot you referred to, but I only have two USB devices that are constantly connected: mini USB receivers for my mouse and wireless headset. If there are constantly other devices appearing, perhaps that could be an indicator of another problem?
