Windows 10: Bluetooth 5.0, why do I need to install driver?

Recently I bought a Bluetooth 5.0 USB Dongle from China.

To my surprise unlike my previous bt 4.2 dongle, Windows 10 didnt recognize the device, instead I should install some china drivers that came in a CD.

I dont like to install some random shit in my computer, especially if it came from china.

I took a better look online and I can only find bt 5.0 dongles that require driver instalation.



Why do I need to install this driver while my bt 4.2 dongle is absolutely plug&play?



Does Windows dont have native support to bt 5.0?

Bluetooth driver error 10 when converted to Windows 10

Hi,

Apologies for the late reply.

Error code 10 is a driver error, as you have already tried to install the drivers I would suggest you to un-install and re-install drivers and check.



Try the following steps:


Follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Right on the start icon and click on device manager
  
• 
  Select Bluetooth adapter, right click on it and click on un-install.
  
• 
  Restart the computer,
  
• 
  Now, install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Windows 7 wont install drivers

i dont think anyone here understands what your asking either when its nearly a 90% english dominated Tech forum.
Step 1
reinstall windows from scratch
Step 2
install all drivers from the cd that came with the god damn motherboard *common sense*
Step 3
update windows
Step 4
install misc etc crap like flash java etc etc
Step 5
Install GPU drivers
Step 6
go back to using your pc without issue.

I suggest you to install the Bluetooth drivers in compatibility mode and check if it helps.

Compatibility mode

Follow the steps below on how to Bluetooth install driver in compatibility mode:

1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the Bluetooth driver install and then check the functionality.
