Windows 10: Bluetooth Device not using stereo fuction

Hi,


I have a relativity new PC, Bluetooth was working fine, with audio sounding perfect. But now when either my ear buds, Sony headset or my JBL speakers are connected via Bluetooth the audio is only coming though as ''Hands free AG Audio'' there is no option for the stereo. All three devises work perfectly before and still do using my phone. The audio still come through from the desktop but sounds terrible. I have tried uninstalling the bluetooth drivers, resetting the computer and then reinstalling with no success.

I have gone into the sound settings and enabled ''"Show Disconnected Devices" but no stereo options come up.

Any advice appreciated.


It might be worth noting that the Bluetooth hardware is a external usb dongle but once again was working perfectly for the 1st month.

e65 and stereo bluetooth

I really like the look of this phone as it is a step up from my 6233 which has been a great phone.

The big disappointment with the 6233 was the lack of stereo bluetooth support.

As the E65 support BT 1.2 I assume it supports bluetooth stereo and that I can use the Nokia or other BT stereo headsets.

Can anyone confirm this is the case? Also, what, if any, pitfalls are there in the E65 BT stereo support?

A: Unfortunately your Nokia device does not support Bluetooth Stereo Audio Profile. Your Nokia device supports Bluetooth version 1.2 and the Bluetooth Stereo Audio Profile is available starting from Bluetooth version 2.0.

 

Using bluetooth for stereo sound

To assist you better, please answer the below:

• 
  What is the make and model of your computer?
  
• 
  What is the current build running on your computer?
  

(To check the build, Press Windows + R keys to open
Run command, type Winver
and press Enter)



As an initial troubleshooting, I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it works.



Method 1: I suggest you to install all the updates on your computer.

Follow the steps below:

• 
  Click on search
  bar, type Windows Update.
  
• 
  Select Check for Update.
  
• 
  Download and
  Install the latest Windows Updates.
  

Method 2: Use the hardware troubleshooter to fix the issue

The Hardware Troubleshooter is an automated tool which will check the hardware connected to the computer for any known issues with it and provides the details and on how to fix them. Follow these steps and
run the troubleshooter.

Follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key to get the Start menu.
  
• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the search box right up corner and hit enter.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshooting tab.
  
• 
  Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
  
• 
  Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
  
• 
  Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.
  

Method 3: Update the Bluetooth drivers.

Follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Windows + X key on the keyboard.
  
• 
  Go to device manager.
  
• 
  Right-click your Bluetooth devices.
  
• 
  Click Update Driver Software and then follow the steps in the wizard that appears.
  

Restart the computer and check.
