Windows 10: Bluetooth devices connect to computer but Audio or Voice

So I started having an issue today after I would connect a Bluetooth device to my computer. The device would connect perfectly fine but it would never connect to audio or voice. This happens with all Bluetooth devices, not just these earbuds. I have already ran through the audio troubleshooter as well as the Bluetooth troubleshooter but nothing worked. I have also tried removing the device and re-pairing it. Updating windows and restarting the computer hasn't helped either. I at a bit of a block as to what I should try next so I came here for some help.By the way, my system is an MSI Vector GP

Audio on connected Bluetooth devices


I'm having a weird problem that I can't figure out and it's driving me nuts.

All that I'm attempting to do is to listen to the podcasts that I have on my Android smart phone through the speakers on my computer via Bluetooth. This worked in Win 8, but since upgrading to 10 I'm encountering a problem.

The computer will pair with the phone with no issues. It will also connect with the device via Bluetooth, no issues there either. But I can't make it pull the audio from the phone. When connected, the audio still plays through the phone, and not the computer.

I've poked around audio settings, and can't find anything. I installed drivers specific to the phone, that did not work. I also went to Dell's site and installed Bluetooth drivers that are specific to my computer. No change.

Any suggestions?

 

Bluetooth Speaker - Connected Voice (Poor Audio Quality)

I had no problem with device. It works with Ipad and phone. Previously when I connected the device It says "Connected Voice And Music" now It says only "Connected Voice". And It has low voice and poor audio quality. Bluetooth Speaker : Anker Soundcore Motion Plus PC : ASUS N552VW. OS : Windows 10 Is it related to bluetooth problem? Bluetooth audio device is connected as Voice only

For some reason, windows really wants my bluetooth device to be input only. It doesn't have a microphone tho, as it is my stereo (Teufel Combo 42 with bluetooth dongle).

Here's what i have to do every time i connect it after booting the PC:

* bluetooth devices => remove device

* turn stereo off and back on again (otherwise the device isn't removed from the list)

* connect new device => reconnect the stereo

* it's now detected as both voice and music playback device

* ...but also switches this device to be default for everything

* switch main audio back to my headset

* start playback of music (spotify)

* now i can switch spotify to the stereo. yay.

Honestly, that's like 7 steps too many for this simple task. is there any way to change/persist the configuration of a given bluetooth device? i'd like windows to recognize it as "music" only as soon as i connect it and use it for music (i.e. spotify) playback only, not as main output device.
