Windows 10: Bluetooth disconnecting on Windows 10 after an update, Intel AC3160 (MSI GP72)

So, after one of the Windows updates (now my OS build is 19042.685), my Bluetooth started disconnecting. Sometimes it disconnects for a few seconds, and sometimes it just goes away absolutely: bluetooth toggle is gone, etc. So I have to take out the power plug and hybernate or turn off my laptop, and then turn it on again. Then Bluetooth reappears. I use a MSI GP72 2QE with Intel 5700HQ and Intel AC3160 Wireless.

When I check it on the Device Manager, it says this:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)
STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE

What I have tried (and it didn't work):

• Simply reinstalling the same drivers.
• Installing older drivers.
• Installing drivers from manufacturer website.
• Disabling/enabling the device.
• Tried sfc /scannow in console.
• Turned off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in device manager on my Intel AC-3160 Wireless, and also for all the USB controllers.

So far, nothing helped. Pretty sure it's not a hardware issue, because it started happening only after an update. I need help because oh boy it's annoying to restart my laptop like 5-6 times a day.

Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision

Edit: This is a dongle with old BT version I see now, but I'm sure you can find a Asus BT4.0 version.

@aasim1111 I have this one, it doesn't show that it supports A2DP in the specs but I think it'll work, otherwise send a mail to Asus and ask.

After Windows 10 2004 update Bluetooth devices disconnect and reconnect randomly

Since the Windows 10 2004 update all my Bluetooth devices frequently disconnect and then in a minute or two reconnect.

Bluetooth devices that disconnect / reconnect include but are not limited to:
a) 2 different Microsoft Bluetooth mice.
b) 2 different Rocketfish Bluetooth keyboards.
c) 8 different Bluetooth headsets.

When reviewing the Event Logs, I found 100s of BTHUSB Event ID: 34 and HidBth Event ID: 2 entries.

The Bluetooth radio in my computers is a combo Intel Wireless Bluetooth and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC3160.

Computer: HP Envy 17

Windows Version: 10.0.19041 Build 19041

Last Update: 2020-09 (KB4571756) Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems

I've gone through every entry in the Bluetooth, Network, Mouse, Keyboard, and Human Interface Devices sections in the Device Manager and disabled the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" anywhere and everywhere I found a Power Managment
tab.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Intel drivers for both the Intel Wireless Bluetooth and Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC3160 devices.

I've rebooted my computer many times after all of the above.

The problem only started with the application of the Windows 2004 Update.

Any help greatly appreciated.
