Windows 10: Bluetooth disconnects second monitor after windows updated

I had no issues before updating Windows. I use my laptop with three external monitors and connect my Sony WH-1000XM headphones via Bluetooth. However, after the update, whenever I connect the headphones, the monitors go black, and one of the three active monitors becomes inactive. To fix it, I have to unplug and replug the inactive monitor, but it turns off again after 10–20 minutes, requiring me to repeat the process.Today, I connected the headphones again, but the third monitor refused to activate at all. For us to sort out this problem with your dual monitors, we'd like to gather more information about what happened so we can address the issue appropriately. Below are a few questions we'd like to ask:

• Does the monitor on the laptop work if you disconnect the other monitor?
• Is the second monitor connected to the laptop using a DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort cable?

While waiting for your feedback, we suggest that you disconnect the second monitor from the laptop and check if its own monitor is working. If not, restart the laptop and check again.

Windows 10 does not recognise second monitor

• Does the monitor on the laptop work if you disconnect the other monitor?
  • No. It only works if I disable the driver so that it reverts to the Basic Microsoft driver. But then it will not connect to the external monitor.

    I also tried to update this driver to no avail so I rolled it back.
    
• Is the second monitor connected to the laptop using a DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort cable?
  • It is connected via an HDMI cable.

  Is it possible that the update/roll back process left remnants of the program in the Registry etc and these are interacting in a way to stop the proper functioning the graphics? Just a thought. When I did the update it asked me if I wanted it installed in
  the existing drivers folder? I said yes. Was this the right thing to do?
  
• When I disconnected the screen as you asked the laptop display remained blank. Restarting had no effect. As I said above, at the moment the only way I can activate the laptop display is disable the Intel driver and revert to the Microsoft Basic Driver but
  then I can't connect to the external screen.
  

 

Second monitor not detected after update

Hi Tom,

There are several reasons that could have caused the issue you are experiencing. One of these is the update you previously performed in Windows, either it was not configured properly by the system or the update components were corrupted. Kindly answer the
following questions for clarification:

• Have you tried updating the monitor and display drivers?
• Have you tried to use another user profile to check if the issue re-occurs?

Furthermore, we suggest that you add the other monitor manually. This is to ensure that the second monitor is still connected after the update. Here are the steps:

• Type connected devices and open Connected Devices on the
  Windows Search bar.
• Click Add devices.
• Select the Second screen.
• Pick one of the 3 options: Duplicate, Extend, and the Second screen only.
• The Duplicate option will duplicate the primary display to secondary display.
• The Extend option will unite two monitors so you can use them both as one.
• The Second screen only option will, obviously, disable primary and use only the secondary monitor.
• Once you’ve chosen the preferred mode, save changes.
