    Bluetooth Disconnects When Volume Drops to Zero


    When my Windows 10 computer is producing no sound, the bluetooth connection disconnects. The next time a sound is played, for example a bell when an email arrives, the first part of that sound is not heard because the system must first reestablish the bluetooth connection.


    The workaround is to open a stream and set it to zero volume. That makes the bluetooth connection persist.


    How do you make the bluetooth connection persist without tricking the system into thinking there is audio to be played?

    Lumia 950 volume drops to zero

    I have a new 950 and it has this problem with volume when I'm listening to Groove tunes with headphones. The volume periodically drops to zero and I cannot increase it. It's like the down volume button is stuck. Rebooting the phone does not correct it, which
    makes me think it's a hardware issue. Then just as suddenly it works again. This happens nearly every time I listen to music.

    Has anyone else experienced this? Otherwise, the phone is great!

    I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Pair the Bluetooth device to the system.
    • Right click on the Speaker icon in the System tray and select
      Playback Devices.
    • Select the device and click on the drop down list next to Set default button.
    • Select the option to connect and disconnect from the device.

    Windows 10 audio issue - volume drops to zero

    Hi Robert, thanks. I checked that and it is already on 16 bit 44100 Hz (CD Quality) but the problem persists! Yesterday I found that there were two identical Realtek drivers enabled so I disabled one of them. When I started up the laptop it seemed fine.
    I was hoping the problem had gone away but the volume control popped up again after 5 minutes and the volume dropped to zero again. It seems to get triggered by something which I am unable to figure out. Thanks anyway. If you have any other suggestions pl
