Windows 10: Bluetooth dissapeared from notification center and everywhere

I have a Google Home constantly connected to my laptop through bluetooth, so a few weeks back I realized it disconnected and bluetooth had dissapeared from my notification center, but I didn't give it much thought since I wasn't gonna use it anytime soon.


Later, I wanted to connect some new headphones and, obviously there was no bluetooth icon anywhere, and when I did troubleshooting it simply said "there's no bluetooth device here". So I went to my manufacturer's ASUS website and downloaded the newest bluetooth driver, installed it, and it worked great.


Now, a week later, it stopped working and appearing again. So I tried installing the driver again, and nothing.

Went to device manager and selected all hidden items, and there it was, but there was no problem with it or the devices it showed listed, only that the devices appeared as off.


I read I needed to uninstall the driver to re-install it, so I deleted all bluetooth stuff I saw on device manager, went on to install the driver again but now it won't appear on device manager not even hidden or on the notification center.


I also checked services.msc to make sure Bluetooth Support Services is on, and is on "automatic", and it is. I don't know where else to look.

No button for bluetooth in action center

Assuming that you have a Bluetooth card, run these checks -

Do you have a Bluetooth entry in Settings, Devices?



If not then Windows does not think you have a Bluetooth card. Check Device manager for a Bluetooth group.

1. If neither of these is there then you do not have a Bluetooth card or you have disabled Bluetooth in the BIOS. You should check your BIOS for a relevant entry but BIOSes vary so I cannot suggest where such a setting might be. You could seek advice from your computer maker or their user forum.
2. If one is there but not the other then you might be able to get it working correctly by reinstalling the driver from your Computer / Bluetooth card maker's website.

You can customise the items shown in Action center but Bluetooth, if it is enabled, is generally put there by default. As explained above, you can customise what is shown by playing around with Settings, System, Notifications. You can add more entries or you can drag off existing entries or you can drag existing entries around to get them in the layout you prefer.

To stop action center notifications, I suggest you to follow the steps given below:

• 
  Type settings in search bar and hit
  enter.
  
• 
  Go to system.
  
• 
  Select notifications and actions.
  
• 
  Click on turn system icons on or off.
  
• 
  Turn off action center.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.
