Windows 10: Bluetooth does not work after Windows update KB4559306

After installing of Windows update KB4559306 Bluetooth devices do not work anymore.

There used to be a Bluetooth turn off and on button on Bluetooth & other devices page in settings. This button disappeared.

Bluetooth driver “Qualcomm QCA61x4A Bluetooth” shows error in DeviceManager “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43”.

There are errors in Event Viewer

<EventID Qualifiers="49157">17</EventID>

The local Bluetooth adapter has failed in an undetermined manner and will not be used. The driver has been unloaded.



The following was done but does not help:

1 Bluetooth driver “Qualcomm QCA61x4A Bluetooth” was removed and reinstalled using DeviceManager.

2 System scan was donesfc /scannow

3 Bluetooth troubleshooter was executed. It shows error “Check Bluetooth radio status – Not fixed”

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps:

Steps to update the Bluetooth drivers:

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at the desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Bluetooth drivers.
• Right on each of the Bluetooth drivers
  and click on Update driver software.

@aasim1111 I have this one, it doesn't show that it supports A2DP in the specs but I think it'll work, otherwise send a mail to Asus and ask.
